STRATEGY

Of course you have now arrived at the page expecting to find something meaningful about the relationship between Strategy and Talent that has not already been said before. The fact that you may well be disappointed does not I’m afraid detract from the necessity of linking whatever initiatives you decide to take, to your organisations view of the future, whether it is represented in a substantial plan facilitated by external consultants or one of those intuitive thoughts that equates to the business equivalent of your "best guess".

While the latter may not satisfy your public's demand for something of substance and gravitas you may as a mere mortal be relieved to know that there is a persuasive argument to suggest they have equal value given the ever increasing pace of change in our world.

Pay attention to strategy but don’t let the complexity disable your efforts to find, develop and retain talented people ........and  "talented" is simply a category that can only be defined by reference to a context. The present, and more importantly the future are the only relevant contexts in defining who falls within that category.
